Instead of new years resolutions…choose a theme or a focus this year. This is my 5th year doing this and I can honestly say it has really lighten things up in my life and led me to some great things.
There is so much optimism around at the start of the year. I’m going to ride this wave as long as I can. To keep me on the wave I’m choosing 1 theme to give me something to focus on and moving in a positive direction. Having 1 important thing to focus on is much better than getting to the end of the year and not even remembering what your new years resolution was. Just the terminology ‘new years resolution’ sounds like it’s sure to fail. It’s time for a change.
Drum roll…this year my theme is BADASS MUMMY!
I have an 18 month old baby girl and being her mum is by biggest joy and absolute priority. With that said…I’m feeling like it’s time for me to be a little braver, get out of my comfort zone (and PJ’s) and give myself a chance to build on my skills and my confidence. We all want more confidence right? It’s the first time in a long time I’ve felt really grounded to be able to commit to longer term plans in business and personal life. I’m now in Canberra to stay and I’m excited to create more opportunities here to do what I love.
So I’m putting on my Badass Mummy outfit (kinda like an armor of sass and confidence) and rising up this year! I’ll be asking myself this question each week, ‘What would badass mummy do?’.
I hope this inspires you to create a theme for yourself. Some questions to ponder to help you create yours.
1. How do you most want to feel in 2018?
2. Who do you want to be?
3. Who do you aspire to be more like? Perhaps it’s just a certain trait of theirs.
4. What’s the most important thing do you?
5. If you only achieved 1 thing in 2018, what would you be most proud of?
It’s ok to take a few days for your theme to settle in. It has to resonate, feel good to you so that you stay committed and inspired to take a little action every week. Make sure you write it down somewhere where you can see it often. A picture on your phone screen saver is always a great reminder.
l would love to hear your theme!
